This activity is designed to familiarize students with the vocabulary around environmentalism in French and to allow them to practice writing sentences with "si" phrases. It is multi-modal and scaffolded, with a variety of visual, reading, and listening comprehension assessments.
After having read Colson Whitehead's The Underground Railroad and reviewing the literature on black geography and decolonial mapping, students embark on their own mapping projects in groups, with the goal of creatively representing the spatial interrogations present in the The Underground Railroad.
